My name is Darrell and I run I started my first website four years ago  and it really has been life-changing for me.

I have made tons of money and met a lot of exceptional business people.

When I first started I was running my restaurants  and this was my side hustle. I had no idea big money could me made online.

My goal now is to help people who are in the same position I once was start their own blog. I will show you how to start a blog that will make you money for years and change your life.

How to Start a Profitable Blog in seven steps today

Step 1) Find your niche

One of the first things you need to do is pick a niche (topic) that you have a interest in.

You don’t want to pick something too small because you’ll run out of ideas and make a lot less money.

You also don’t want your niche too big or you will have a tough time competing and getting visitors to your blog

When choosing your niche:

  • You have a huge interest in
  • Has more than one way to monetize
  • You are already knowledgeable about
  • Its still gaining popularity

Examples of good niches

  • Electronic reviews
  • Fashion trends
  • Luxury travel
  • Swimming techniques

Step 2) Choose a content management system

Build your website with the self-hosted version of Word Press. THIS MEANS you’ll have the files of your website on a server but it also means you own everything and control your website.

You’ll be able to design the site how ever you want change any code, install plugins that make your website better.

No matter what kind of website you want to design . WordPress is very capable

WordPress is FREE

WordPress is open source which means all of it’s code is publicly available for anyone to use. The only investment you will have is a web server to hold the files so that your website is online and accessible 24/7.

Step 3) Choose a Domain Name

You can pick a creative name,a pen  name or use your personal name. I would suggest you just use your name because you will always be able to brand it anyway you’d like.

This blog is where I write and inform new and intermediate bloggers different ways to work from home and strategies on how to make legitimate money online, while avoiding the numerous scams.

My other blog is  where I inform and educate my readers about the numerous ways to change our eating habits and how to eat in a much healthier way with more fruits and vegetables.

You won’t know what domain names are already taken until you go to buy one so don’t get too excited until you see what’s available.

Action 1    Go to  Siteground and check if your domain name is already taken. You can get a free Domain name for life! Save $ 1499 per year. When you sign up for any hosting pack using my link above or below.

Step 4)          Buy a Hosting Package

For the majority of people you’ll want to use WordPress as it’s the standard. You can buy a package that lets you host multiple sites.

The reason why I personally use and recommend  Siteground over the super popular Bluehost is because they are the same price but have better customer service and include automatic WordPress updates for free which keep your site secure and up to date!

Action 2     Go to Siteground and choose a hosting plan just choose the cheapest plan for $4 a month

By using my link you’ll get a free domain with any hosting plan and 60% off.

There are only two things that matter when it comes to hosting

  • Page load speed
  • Uptime  – 99.9% isn’t enough. You should be aiming for 100%

Step 5) Choose a Theme

The best thing about WordPress is the amount of beautiful themes that make your website look like a professional designed it but without much work.

Just choose and activate one of the free themes thats included with your  Siteground hosting or buy premium theme  mythemeshop   like I did.

Action 3) After you’ve signed up for your free domain and hosting choose your themes for your new website.

Step 6)  Write Your First Post ( masterpiece )

The first blog post should be about yourself ,your topic and the reason why you started the blog. There should be an About Me page, Contact page, Privacy policy page, and an Affiliate disclosure page.

My advice would be to write in a conversational tone, addressing your personal family and friends keep it casual.

Once you get traction and your blog becomes more popular get deeper into topics and add some bells and whistles like start embedding videos  and hello bars.

Step 7) Monetize your Blog

Now that your blog is looking great and you have plenty of traffic it’s time to monetize your blog.

I’m sure you have heard about people who make lots of money blogging.

Lindsay from Pinch of Yum makes about $ 20,000 a month she started in 2010.

Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income makes $ 80,000 a month and he started blogging in 2011.

Start with these 5 common ways you can make money blogging

1.) Affiliate marketing
